Poem / Prayer
Mark T. Brown, age 69, of College Place, Washington, passed away on August 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with a rare form of neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 8, 1957, in Wenatchee, Washington to Thomas E and Bonnie Kaye Brown. The family lived in several places prior to moving to Alaska in 1965 and later purchased a ranch in 1973 in Elgin, Oregon where Mark graduated from high school. Mark attended Walla Walla University and Walla Walla Community College. He loved sales and worked for Advantage Advertising in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Outside of work, Mark enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sports fan who followed many teams and events, but he especially loved the San Francisco 49ers football team. He was passionate about cars and driving. His favorite car was his 1967 Pontiac GTO. Mark loved music. He took drum lessons when he was young, starting at the age of 6 or 7. He taught himself how to play the guitar and also took some classical guitar lessons. He attended many concerts over the years. His favorite music was from the 1960s – 1980s. He was a big fan of the band Fleetwood Mac. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Kind Brown. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Jennifer Henderson and her husband Scott, and his stepson, Johnny LeMaster, along with Johnny’s girlfriend, Angie Smart, and her son, Camden. He was a proud step-grandfather to Berlin Henderson, who brought him great joy and delight. Mark is also survived by his sister, Camie Brown Powers and her husband Ed, as well as his nephews, Rolie Bartlett and his wife Whitney and their children Mason and Leah; and Clark Bartlett and his wife Eme and their daughter Zoe. He is also remembered by cousins, other family members and friends.
