Mark Steven Laiche
August 25, 1958 — November 1, 2026
Mark Steven Laiche, a man of unwavering love and dedication, was born on August 25, 1958, in the warm embrace of Winter Haven, Florida. He peacefully departed this world on November 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
Mark was the beloved son of Lee Joseph and Virginia Juanita Laiche, both of whom preceded him in death, and is now reunited with them in eternal peace. His life was a testament to the values they instilled in him—kindness, strength, and an enduring sense of humor.
In his youth, Mark proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine for four years, a period that shaped his character and deepened his respect for service and sacrifice. After his service, he found his calling as a welder, where his skill and dedication left a lasting mark. Later, he served the community of Lakeland with distinction in his role with the city.
On July 2, 2005, after a loving courtship of nine years, Mark married the love of his life, Diana Mitts. Their marriage was a partnership built on mutual respect and unwavering devotion. Mark was a man who cherished his family above all else, and his greatest joy came from making sure Diana was well-fed with his exceptional culinary talents, always with a twinkle of humor in his eyes.
A man of many interests, Mark found joy in the thrill of NASCAR, the camaraderie of football, and the strategic challenges of video games like Call of Duty. Despite these passions, it was clear to all who knew him that his deepest love was for his family, whom he adored beyond measure.
Mark leaves behind his devoted wife, Diana, his cherished daughter Misty Sickels and her husband Shane, and his beloved son James Thompson. His legacy of love continues through his six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring bonds he forged throughout his life.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the compassionate staff at Lakeland Regional and LifeLink for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Mark's generous spirit.
As we gather to celebrate Mark's life, we remember a man whose laughter and love touched all who knew him. He was a great cook, a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. Mark will forever live in our hearts and memories, his spirit a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
