October 9, 1986 — July 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark Anthony Fountain on July 4, 2026, at the age of 39. He left this world at home, surrounded by the warmth of his cherished hobbies and the love of his family and friends. Born on October 9, 1986, Mark was a beloved son to Stacy Steelman Fountain and Mark Anthony Fountain, and a cherished stepson to Toy Franklin Coleman. His early years were filled with laughter and a growing love for the world of gaming and technology, interests that would shape his life's journey. Mark attended Ocean Springs High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and discovered his passion for gaming. Mark's career led him to a position in security at the Beau Rivage, where he was known for his diligence and dedication. However, it was in the digital realms where his true legacy was built. As a Grand Master of POZ (Prophets of Zion) in EverQuest Online Adventures, Mark became a beacon of leadership and camaraderie, creating a virtual family that spanned the globe. His love for EverQuest, Magic the Gathering, Pokémon Go, and Final Fantasy XIV was only matched by his joy in building and racing RC cars. His gaming PC, a testament to his technical prowess, was his pride and joy. Mark's quick wit and dry humor were legendary among those fortunate enough to know him. An introvert by nature, he was fiercely loyal and protective, with a heart of gold that shone through in the smallest gestures. Time spent with Mark was precious, and to be included in his world was the greatest honor. His smile had the power to lift spirits, and his presence was a comfort to all who knew him. Mark was proceeded in death by his grandparents, James Ronald Sr. and Margaret Ann May Steelman, Stanley Niles and Betty Jo Fountain, Toy Coleman, Grady and Martha Ann Harris, his father-in-law James Shepard, and his cousin and role model, Jacob Brice Latch. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Holly (Baber) Fountain, with whom he shared twelve wonderful years, eight of those in marriage. Their union, celebrated in D'Iberville, MS, on October 23, 2018, was a testament to love and laughter. Mark was a loving stepfather to Christian, Mourghan, Garrett, Maggie, and Nolan, and a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren. Mark is also survived by his beloved (mudder) Stacy, his dear (seester Sarbear) Sarah, his step-siblings Joe and Christie, and their children, Adriana, Hannah, Breanna, Debbie, Kevin, Annabelle, and Little Joe whom he held dear as siblings. His extended family, including Aunt Kay Kay, Uncle Mark, cousins Ann, Josh, Jacob’s beloved wife Katie, Jessi, Uncle Ronald, Aunt Karen and their families will forever cherish his memory. Mark's online community friends, who became a second family, will miss their Grand Master and friend. A service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM for family and 11:00 AM for friends/family at The Junction Grief Center, located at 8216 Ocean Springs Rd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Mark Fountain will be remembered for his unwavering love, his quiet strength, and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
