Mark James Bannister

Mark James Bannister, 51, a glad follower of Jesus, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at Grace Hospital on 12 August 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Mark, or Marky as he was popularly known, had an abiding Christian faith, a gregarious sense of humor and was outspoken about his convictions. Mark kept a community of friends connected. Known for his ability to make new friends and make people laugh, Mark also drew near to those who needed hope. Born in _, on 19 February 1975 to parents Ronald and Dianna Bannister, and brother to Donna Moore of Bermuda, Mark attended Arthur Oliver Elementary School, Ness Junior High School and John Taylor Collegiate, graduating from Sturgeon Creek High School. He later worshipped at The Meeting Place, Oasis Church and _. Mark had a varied working life that included roles as a Pressman, Print Sales Representative, Service Advisor, and later as a Recruiter. Mark is survived by his parents Ron and Dianne, former spouse Trina Alexis (née Burns), and children: Luke, Gillian, Cameron and Kristjan. He was preceded in death by __. A private memorial celebration of Mark’s life will be held on 17 August 2026.
