It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Greenberg, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on April 24, 2026, at the age of 78. Mark was born on May 3, 1947, in Willimantic, Connecticut, to the late Jack and Harriett Greenberg. He was the younger brother of the late Alan Greenberg. Mark was a proud graduate of Manchester High School, where he laid the foundation for his remarkable journey through life. In 1966, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Navy. Over the course of two decades, Mark dedicated himself to his duties as a Petty Officer First Class and System Organizational Maintenance Technician, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow servicemen. His time in the Navy was marked by steadfast commitment and a tireless work ethic, traits that would define his entire life. On July 30, 1971, Mark married the love of his life, Betty, in Leonardtown, Maryland. Together, they shared over 55 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and devotion. They were blessed with a son, Jack, who, alongside his wife Cynthia, brought immense joy and two cherished grandsons, Nathan and Daniel, into their lives. After retiring from the Navy in 1986, Mark continued to serve his country in a different capacity, joining the military defense sector. From 1987 until his retirement in 2015, he worked diligently as an aircraft maintenance technician and aircraft paint specialist, contributing his expertise to ensure the safety and readiness of our nation's aircraft. Mark was a man of many passions, with a particular love for classic cars. He was a lifetime member of the Plymouth Car Club, where he found camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts. His pride and joy was his 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe, affectionately named "The Beaver," which he lovingly restored and maintained with meticulous care. Despite his quiet demeanor, his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand knew no bounds, and his great smile and gentle spirit endeared him to everyone he knew. Mark's legacy lives on in the loving memories of his wife Betty, his son Jack, daughter-in-law Cynthia, and grandsons Nathan and Daniel. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit of generosity, love, and humor will forever be cherished. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Mark's life. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff who provided care and comfort during his final days. Mark Greenberg's life was a testament to the values of love, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
