Mark Gibson
February 4, 1957 — July 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Gibson, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, who left this world on July 9, 2026. Born on February 4, 1957, in the humble town of Lawtell, Louisiana, Mark's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, laughter, and resilience.
Mark was the son of Gladys Gibson and grew up alongside his brother, Charles, and sister, Brenda Saulsbury. Though they have passed before him, they remained ever-present in his heart and memories. Mark's nephew, Chris Gibson, also predeceased him, and together they are now reunited in peace.
His legacy is carried on by his devoted children, Tony, Devon, and Kevon Gibson, who were the light of his life. Mark's love extended beyond his immediate family, as he was blessed with ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored. His family was his pride and joy, and his unwavering support and affection were constants in their lives.
Mark was a man who loved hard, laughed loud, and stood tall for those he held dear. He believed that love is greatest when it manifests in family, and he gave that love freely, consistently, and without hesitation. He was a pillar of strength and a beacon of kindness, always encouraging those around him to find joy in the simple moments and to cherish the bonds of family.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held on August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bayview Mortuary, located at 5187 Third St, San Francisco, CA 94124. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to gather in remembrance of Mark's remarkable life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Mark's generous spirit and his commitment to helping others.
The Gibson family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time. As they navigate the days ahead, they vow to stick together through thick and thin, up and down, good or bad, always knowing that the unconditional love Mark imparted will continue to guide them. "God continues to bless this family," they affirm, steadfast in the belief that Mark's legacy of love endures.
May Mark Gibson rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
