July 8, 1958 — June 27, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Emmett Pishon, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who departed this world on June 27, 2026. Born on July 8, 1958, in Portsmouth, NH, Mark was a beacon of kindness and unwavering strength, whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and generosity. He left us peacefully at his home, surrounded by his cherished family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mark was the beloved son of Nicholas and Astrid (Friden) Pishon. His life was marked by deep familial bonds, and while he faced the sorrow of losing his infant daughter Elaine, his brother Curtis, his father Nicholas, and both his in-laws, he carried their memories with profound grace and strength.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Christine L. Miklich, whom he married on August 19, 1996, in Indianapolis, IN. Their love was a cornerstone of his life, and together they raised two wonderful sons, Joshua Pishon of Carmel, IN, and Lucas Pishon (Lex) of Bloomington, IN. Mark’s legacy continues through his loved ones, including his mother Astrid, sister Crystle, brother Nicholas of New Hampshire, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Mark’s educational journey began at Pemberton Township High School in New Jersey, where he graduated in June 1976, and continued at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned a B.S. degree. His commitment to service was evident in his years with the ROTC and his subsequent service in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he attained the rank of Captain.
A man of many talents, Mark dedicated his professional life to finance. He held numerous roles, notably as an auditor for PRG-Shultz from 2001-2008, and as Audit Director and then CFO for IEDC from 2010-2024. Upon retirement, he founded Strategem Advisors, channeling his expertise as a financial advisor.
Mark also found joy in fostering community bonds. As an active participant in Boy Scout Troop 358 in Zionsville, he guided and inspired many young minds. His passion for music was well-known; whether playing guitar to relax or performing in a band, music was his constant companion.
More than his accomplishments, Mark will be remembered for his extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His genuine warmth and openness forged lasting friendships wherever he went. Mark’s kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love and compassion.
A service to honor Mark’s life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 1:04 PM at St. Alphonsus Church, Parish Hall, located at 1870 W Oak Street, Zionsville, IN. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Witham Hematology for their compassionate care during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to cancer research charities, reflecting Mark’s spirit of giving. As we celebrate his life, we find comfort in the love he shared and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. He will forever be "Forever in our hearts."
