February 20, 1954 — December 27, 2025

With heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Mark Alan Beutler, on December 27, 2025. Mark left this world gently, surrounded by love and warmth, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was 71 years old. Born on February 20, 1954, in the charming town of Appleton, MN, Mark was the cherished son of Bernard and Joyce (Andersen) Beutler. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, grandparents, cousins, and several dear family friends, who have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. Mark is survived by his devoted siblings: Bonita Cherry (Nelson Arencebia), David Beutler, Alice Beutler, and Julie Johnson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his nephews Andrew Fruhling and Justin Johnson; nieces Lisa (Ben) Gaffney and Jane Engel; and twelve precious great-nieces and nephews, along with numerous cousins and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared. A proud graduate of Appleton High School, Mark embarked on a life filled with hard work and dedication. He initially worked factory jobs in Morris, MN, until their closure led him back to his roots. Mark joined his father Bernie on the family farm, where he continued to cultivate the land and nurture its creatures until the Starbuck farm was sold in 2003. His heart was always on the farm, where he lovingly named animals like his steers, Blind and Skinny, and cared for his beloved cats. Mark had a penchant for fishing, though he never quite acquired a taste for his catch. A true cowboy at heart, he was rarely seen without his signature denim button-down flannel, iconic cowboy boots, and well-loved pipe. His sense of humor, witty remarks, infectious laughter, and big bear hugs left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Mark was also a passionate fan of fantasy football, and his enthusiasm for the game made every Sunday an event to remember. We invite all who knew and loved Mark to join us in celebrating his remarkable life on June 20, 2026. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MN. Together, we will honor the life of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a cause close to Mark's heart: Donation URL. Your contributions will continue to reflect Mark's generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Mark Alan Beutler lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. His legacy of warmth and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who went before him and remembered fondly by those he leaves behind.
