Mark A. Davenport II

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark A. Davenport II, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved son, and dear friend. Mark left this world peacefully on October 20, 2025, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in Troy, New York, where he was born on March 27, 1977. Mark was the son of Mark A. Davenport Sr. and Robin Bushnell Davenport Pettit, and he was blessed with loving family. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Thomas and Eugenia (Decker) Bushnell, and George and Carol (Gaylord) Davenport, whose memories he held dear. Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Megan (Hall) Davenport, and his three wonderful children, Alex P. Davenport (mother Lisa A. Jones), Bailey E. Davenport, and Jameson T. Davenport, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Todd M. (Destiny) Davenport, Jennifer LR. (Michael) Martin, and Jesse Davenport, as well as his stepfather, James S. Pettit. Mark's educational journey began at Fort Plain Central School in Fort Plain, NY, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for his future endeavors. At the time of his passing, Mark was employed by Southworth Milton CAT in Clifton Park, New York, where he was respected and admired by colleagues for his dedication and professionalism. Beyond his professional life, Mark was a man of many passions. He found joy and solace in fishing with his brothers Todd and Jesse, and friends Bernie and Billy Moak in South Carolina. These trips were treasured moments of laughter and camaraderie, which he looked forward to with great enthusiasm. Mark will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his remarkable ability to bring joy to any room. His humor and light-heartedness were unmatched, always ready with a joke to brighten the day. More than anything, Mark was known for his immense kindness and generosity, qualities that left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His genuine warmth made everyone feel welcome and valued, and his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. A service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, located on Fordsbush Road in Fordsbush, New York. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Mark are invited to gather and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Mark's heart. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to make a difference through this meaningful cause. As we bid farewell to Mark, we hold onto the precious memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts.
