Marion Lee Robinson Ogunusi

Marion Lee Robinson Ogunusi, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 78. Born on May 28, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, Marion's life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and love. Marion was the beloved daughter of Rebecca Hutchinson and Eugene Robinson. She was predeceased by her treasured parents, her devoted husband Nathaniel James Ogunusi, with whom she shared a life of love since their marriage in 1969, her sister Loretta Robinson, her cherished Aunt Edna Hutchinson-Hernandez, and her uncle Joseph Hernandez. A proud graduate of Walton High School, Marion initially pursued a career in nursing, inspired by her mother's footsteps. Although she took a non-traditional path to higher education, Marion's determination led her back to academia, where she proudly graduated from Monroe College with a degree in Human Resources. Her passion for learning was evident through the numerous certifications and certificates she acquired in her field. Marion's professional journey was centered around her unwavering commitment to helping others. She dedicated her career to community service, working with organizations such as Kash Harlem Works and ultimately at V.I.P. Community Services, where she made a significant impact on countless lives. Marion's life was enriched by her family, who meant the world to her. She is survived by her brother Leonard Robinson and his wife Yoly Robinson, her sister and cousin Louisa Davison, her cousin Ferdinand Hernandez, and her nieces and nephews: Sheronda Robinson, Jamal Davison, Jennifer Hernandez, Jen Lee Rodriguez, Christopher Robinson and his wife Sheresse, Tavia Hawkins, Darius Robinson, and Ashia JaNet Robinson. She also leaves behind a host of great-nieces and nephews, alongside her two beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Marion's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family invites you to honor Marion's memory at a private memorial service on August 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM, located at 1020 Grand Concourse, Suite 17N. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Marion's honor, celebrating her lifelong commitment to helping others. Marion's journey touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
