June 19, 1947 — September 10, 2026

Marion C. Shipp, a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 10, 2026, at the comfort of his home. Born on June 19, 1947, in Texarkana, Arkansas, Marion lived a life rich with love, adventure, and service. He was the beloved son of Frank Shipp and Irene Gregory Shipp, both of whom predeceased him, along with his siblings: Hubert Wayne Shipp and John E. Shipp, and sisters, Beulah Faye Cooper, Elizabeth "Liz" Haworth and Sue Stout. Marion's legacy of warmth and kindness continues through the lives of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted nieces, nephews, their children and grand children. Lorena Shipp Stevenson, Teresa Jones, John F. Shipp, Amanda Shipp Bowman, Kelly D. Wells, Tammi Shipp Serrano, Benjamin Shipp, Franklin Shipp, Ashley Haworth, Shannon Haworth, Charles Cooper, Willie Cooper, James Cooper, and Jodi Stout, estranged step daughter, Clida Hughes Cigainero, along with their loving spouses, children, and grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and a dear friend, Amber Edington. Marion's professional journey was as colorful as it was fulfilling. He dedicated his working years to the Red River Army Depot, the Railroad, 18 Wheeler Truck Driver, and Mr. B's Salvage. His tales of travel and adventure while working for the Railroad were legendary, as he often encouraged others to explore the breathtaking landscapes of the United States by train, capturing the beauty that God created. A man of faith, Marion was an active member of the Church of God Union Assembly on Highway 59 South. His life was enriched by his love for fishing and the camaraderie found at deer camp. Yet, it was his passion for antique automobiles that truly defined him. Marion's eyes would light up at the sight of a classic car, a testament to his enduring appreciation for the past. Marion's family has chosen to honor his memory with a Celebration of Life reflecting the intimate and personal connections he cherished throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help spread his ashes to Lorena Stevenson, a gesture that aligns with Marion's generous spirit. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Texarkana Funeral Home for their compassionate assistance during this time. Special thanks also go to Amber Edington for her unwavering support and to Tammi Shipp for her invaluable help. Marion's warmth, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Marion C. Shipp welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
