Marion (Butch) Oneal King

Marion (Butch) Oneal King passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 16, 1942, in Covington, Tennessee, Marion was the beloved son of Benjamin F. and Virginia Gillespie King. He had one brother , Norman F. King, who predeceased him. Marion's heart was captured by Janet Arnold, whom he married in Memphis over 60 years ago. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised a family, including their daughter, Robin, and son, Andrew. In retirement, Marion and Janet embraced the tranquility of country living in Troy, Tennessee. There, he found joy in his favorite pastimes: fishing and watching old westerns and "MAS*H" on television. Marion was a Christian and a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Troy. Marion is survived by his beloved wife, Janet, his daughter Robin (Larry) Finch, his son Andrew King, and his grandson Daniel (Erin) Finch and furry friend, Freddie. In honor of Marion's memory, a private graveside funeral ceremony will be held. Marion (Butch) Oneal King will forever be remembered for his soft-spoken demeanor, his devotion to family, and his unwavering kindness. He touched many lives with his gentle soul and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
