Mario was born on November 30, 1971, in the vibrant town of San Pedro Cholua, Puebla, Mexico. He entered eternity on October 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered. Mario was the beloved son of the late Maurilio Ortega and Maria Felicita Carcamo. His father's passing, along with that of his dear son Fernando Ortega, marks a poignant chapter in his life, yet Mario’s strength and resilience were evident in the love he continued to pour into his family and community. Survived by his devoted wife, Cristina Guadalupe Cortez, Mario was a pillar of strength and dedication to his family. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Mariam Ortega, and his step-son, Fredy Cortez, who were the light of his life. Mario also leaves a legacy of warmth and compassion with his mother, Maria Felicita Carcamo, and innumerable beloved friends and family members who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts. Mario was a man of many passions. His love for coaching soccer was only surpassed by his joy in spending time with family and friends. A lover of life, Mario found happiness in eating, dancing, and sharing laughter with those around him. Known for his big heart and unwavering willingness to help others, Mario was a good father and grandfather whose dedication to his family was unparalleled. A service to celebrate Mario’s life will be held on October 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, located at 601 Bell Rd, Antioch, TN 37013. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Mario are invited to gather and honor the life of a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mario Ortega Carcamo. His spirit of generosity and love for helping others will remain a guiding light for all who knew him. Mario Ortega Carcamo will be remembered as a man who lived life with joy, compassion, and unwavering love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who were fortunate to know him.
