In Loving Memory

Marilyn Fay Stone
August 18, 1935 — October 19, 2026
Marilyn Stone, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2026, with her devoted daughter by her side. Born on August 18, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ralph and Sophie Cooper, Marilyn lived a life full of love, laughter, and resilience. Although she bravely battled cancer for several years, even achieving remission at one point, she chose to embrace peace when the illness returned.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel Stone, her cherished parents, and her brother Gerald and his wife, Mindy Cooper. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love through her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Julio Correa, her grandsons Joshua and Justin, their spouses Ciara and Caitlin and her precious great-grandchildren, Jett, Jewel, and Carly Correa.
A graduate of Gratz High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marilyn cherished the lifelong friendships she formed there, which evolved into a chosen family over the years. Her professional life was spent as a printing specialist with the U.S. Government Printing Office, where her dedication and expertise left a lasting impression until her retirement. After many years in Philadelphia, Marilyn and her husband Manny moved to Texas and later Florida, before she ultimately returned to Texas to be with her daughter and son-in-law in her later years.
Marilyn's zest for life was palpable. She delighted in the company of others, whether through shopping adventures, particularly in thrift stores, or engaging in spirited games of dominoes. Her joy in conversation and her infectious sense of humor—traits inherited from her father and brother—endeared her to many. Known for her happy-go-lucky nature and her readiness to help others, Marilyn's spirit was as bright as the laughter she so often shared.
A memorial service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held on October 26, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Eternal Light Cemetery in Boynton Beach. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at MD Anderson Head and Neck Center in Houston, Texas, and Acara Hospice in Montgomery, Texas, for their unwavering support and care during Marilyn's journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or MD Anderson Cancer Center in Marilyn's memory. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
