Marilyn Schurr Blanchard, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 20, 1941, Marilyn was the cherished daughter of Woodrow and Merlyn Schurr, who instilled in her the values of love, resilience, and kindness. Marilyn's journey was marked by her unwavering strength and tenacity, qualities that were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a pillar of strength to her family, always providing unwavering support and love. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and she found immense joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marilyn's family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Marilyn was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frank Blanchard, her loving parents, Woodrow and Merlyn Schurr, and her dear brother, Woody Schurr. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Bryan Stinson, Wendy Swanson and her late husband Barry, Robin Jordan and her husband Garrett, and Francis Blanchard and his wife Maria. Her family was her greatest pride, and she was blessed with the love of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. A lover of animals, Marilyn shared a special bond with her dog, Phoebe, who preceded her in death. Caring for Phoebe brought her much joy and companionship, and she often spoke of the happiness that their time together brought her. To honor Marilyn's life and the profound impact she made on those around her, a service will be held on August 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at L. A. Muhleisen & Son, located at 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA 70062. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Marilyn's warmth and kindness are invited to celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, reflecting Marilyn's generous spirit and her desire to help those in need. Marilyn Schurr Blanchard will be remembered for her strength, her deep love for family, and her unwavering compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
