Marilyn Joy Eslinger Bowman Campbell, known affectionately as Marilyn, peacefully left this world on June 12, 2026, at her cherished home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born on September 14, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marilyn was a beacon of love and resilience, a woman whose life was a testament to unwavering devotion and grace.
Marilyn's early years were shaped by the nurturing guidance of her parents, Edwin Eslinger and Dorothy Louise Shelton, and she was lovingly raised by her father, William T. Bowman. Her formative years in Idaho Falls imbued her with a profound sense of community and family, values she carried with her throughout her life.
On August 25, 1961, Marilyn married her beloved Perry LaVal Campbell in a ceremony that marked the beginning of a partnership characterized by enduring love and commitment. Their union was blessed in the Idaho Falls Temple, where they were sealed for time and all eternity, a testament to their deep faith as lifelong members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Marilyn's professional journey was spent in dedicated service to others at the Family Service Agency in San Bernardino, where she worked for over 40 years before retiring. Her career was marked by compassion and an unwavering commitment to helping those in need, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Her life was rich with interests that reflected her nurturing spirit and artistic talent. Marilyn was an avid gardener, finding solace and joy among her flowers. She delighted in cross-stitching, wood carving, and toll painting, creating pieces that adorned her home and brought warmth to those around her. Marilyn's kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread and cookies, a testament to her love of baking. Knitting was another passion, allowing her to craft gifts of love for her family and friends.
Marilyn's heart was filled with love for her family, which shone through in every aspect of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband Perry, her brother, and her son, losses she bore with grace and strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family members: her cherished children, Joddy Lin Campbell Ebmeyer and her spouse Bradley Hugh Ebmeyer, and her dear brother, William T. Bowman. Her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren were the lights of her life, each holding a special place in her heart.
