Marilyn Jane Wilson
March 20, 1952 — April 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Marilyn Jane Wilson on April 5, 2026, near her cherished home, at the age of 74. Born on March 20, 1952, in Orillia, Ontario, Marilyn was a beacon of love and kindness who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Marilyn was the cherished daughter of the late John and Edna Irwin and the dear sister of the late Dianne Ellett and Paul Irwin. Her family roots ran deep, and she held her memories of them close throughout her life. Marilyn is survived by her devoted brother, Gerry Irwin, whose bond with her was built on love and shared memories.
On May 29, 1976, Marilyn married the love of her life, Keith Wilson. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering partnership. Their nearly 50 years of marriage were a testament to their enduring love and commitment to one another. Marilyn leaves behind her loving husband, Keith, who was her rock and her greatest love.
Marilyn was the proud and loving mother of two wonderful children, Jennifer McCrackin and Kevin Wilson. Her daughter, Jennifer, along with her partner Tim Morris, brought immense joy to Marilyn's life, as did her son, Kevin. Her legacy of love lives on in her five cherished grandchildren: Austin and Kaylee McCrackin, Trey and Connor Morris, and Jayla Fawcett. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her gentle spirit and wisdom will live on through them.
Marilyn was a woman who found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for fishing, which she often enjoyed during her treasured days at the cottage. Her skill in the kitchen was unparalleled, and she was known for her delicious meals that brought her family together. Marilyn enjoyed long walks, savoring the beauty of nature, and found comfort in a hot cup of coffee and the refreshing taste of a cold beer in the sun.
Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her family to her friends and community, where she was known for her kindness and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Marilyn had a way of making ordinary moments extraordinary, and she leaves behind countless memories of laughter, love, and joy.
In honoring Marilyn's life, we celebrate the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a dear sister and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share their memories and honor the beautiful life she led. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Marilyn's memory to a charity of choice, reflecting her generous and caring nature.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
