It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Marilyn J. Vranas, on May 11, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on May 2, 1937, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Marilyn graced this world with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. Marilyn was the cherished daughter of Gilbert J. LaPointe and Gladys M. Porter, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, her beloved siblings Ann Anderson and Gilbert LaPointe Jr., and her dear husbands, Byron Vranas Sr. and Bernie Shansoff. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories were her guiding light. The heart of Marilyn’s life was her family, who surrounded her with love in her final days, sharing treasured moments of prayer and joyful conversation. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her three adored children, Byron Jr., Chris, and Steven, who, along with their spouses Carol, Janice, and Jen, were the pride of her life. Her spirit will continue to shine through her seven beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Alexandra, Julia, Elizabeth, Amelia, and Giedion, as well as her four precious great-grandchildren, Lia, Ryan, Oliver, and Fiona. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, compassion, and joy. Marilyn’s life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where everyone was welcome. She had a remarkable ability to make each person feel special and cherished, often with a simple smile or a thoughtful gesture. Her unwavering faith and strength were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Beyond her family, Marilyn was known for her generosity and her dedication to her community. She was a beacon of hope and a trusted friend to many, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word. Her legacy of kindness will continue to touch the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we celebrate Marilyn’s life, we find solace in the knowledge that she is reunited with those she loved so dearly. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with her grace and love. A memorial service will be held to honor Marilyn’s beautiful life, with details to be announced at a later date. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating the extraordinary life of a remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marilyn’s memory to a charity close to her heart, continuing her legacy of giving and compassion.
