Marilyn Ann Kovar

October 12, 1950 — April 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Marilyn Ann Kovar, who departed this world on April 18, 2026, at the age of 75. Marilyn's incredible journey began on October 12, 1950, in the quaint town of Smithville, Texas, where she was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, Vencil and Mary Vinklarek. Marilyn was a beacon of warmth and kindness, a soul who embodied the virtues of love and forgiveness. Her big heart and gentle nature left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to resilience and grace, qualities that shone brightly through her courageous battle with dementia, during which she was surrounded by the unwavering love and support of her cherished family and friends. After graduating from Smithville High School, Marilyn pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by attending cosmetology school. Her career as a hairdresser spanned an impressive 43 years, during which she touched many lives in the Taylor and Austin areas. Her clients were drawn not only to her skill but also to her warm smile and caring demeanor. In February 1981, Marilyn wed the love of her life, Frank Kovar. Together they nurtured a loving and joyful home, cherishing 36 beautiful years of marriage until Frank's untimely passing in 2017. Their union was blessed with three children, Kelly, Shane and Wendy who were the pride and joy of Marilyn's life. Her legacy continues through her daughter Shane and husband Jason Thielepape, and her son Kelly and wife Tami Kovar. Marilyn's love and guidance will also be carried forward by her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and fulfillment. Beyond her family and professional life, Marilyn found solace and happiness in simple pleasures. She relished time spent fishing in which many tournaments were won (despite Frank's diligence of also attempting to win), tending to her garden, caring for her animals and helping family and neighbors. Her beautiful yard was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and her door was always open, her home filled with laughter and love. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Wendy Kovar and her husband Frank, her parents and 4 brothers whose memories she cherished deeply. Today, we find comfort in knowing they are reunited in peace. The family invites all who knew Marilyn to celebrate her life on April 22, 2026, at Bluffton Cemetery, located at 8685 RR 2241, Bluffton, TX 78607. Services will commence at 2:00 PM, where we will honor her memory and remembrances of a life beautifully lived. In this time of remembrance, the Thielepape and Kovar families extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers from Magnolia Hospice, whose exceptional care and support were a source of comfort throughout Marilyn's journey. Marilyn Ann Kovar's life was a testament to love, resilience, and grace. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of kindness will forever inspire those left behind. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
