Marie McCollom (née Herron), a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and devoted healthcare professional, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on February 28, 1946, in the serene town of Kennewick, Washington, Marie was the beloved daughter of Charlene and Russel Herron. She was predeceased by her parents and her dear brother, Robbie, whom she always remembered fondly. Marie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and service. She spent 25 remarkable years at the Paris Regional Health Center, where she dedicated herself to the care and well-being of others. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her unwavering compassion, gentle spirit, and the warm smile she offered to everyone she encountered. Through her work, Marie touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the community she served with such dedication. A devoted and nurturing mother, Marie is survived by her two children, daughter Sue Parker and son Russel Herron, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. Her nurturing soul extended beyond her immediate family, as she was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Tessa Miller and husband Robert, Jeffery Steffenson and wife Meredith, and Harley and Jacob Herron who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Recently, she was blessed with two great-grandchildren, whose presence illuminated her later years with a renewed sense of wonder and love. Family was the cornerstone of Marie's life. She believed in the power of togetherness and made every effort to create a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. Her family gatherings were cherished events, filled with stories, laughter, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals. Marie's hands were never idle; they were always ready to comfort, create, and care for those she held dear. In honoring Marie's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing her family to celebrate her life in an intimate gathering. While she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Marie McCollom's life was a beautiful mosaic of love, service, and dedication. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this time of mourning. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local charity of your choice, in memory of Marie's lifelong commitment to helping others. While we say goodbye to Marie, we do so with the knowledge that her light will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her.
