Marie Louise Daggett Morse

January 16, 1948 — June 2, 2026

Marie Louise Daggett Morse, a beacon of kindness and inspiration, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 16, 1948, in the picturesque town of Conway, New Hampshire, Marie was a radiant soul whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle departure at the Thunderbird Hospice Center in Phoenix was marked by the comforting presence of family and friends, a testament to the deep connections she nurtured throughout her life. Marie was the cherished daughter of Maurice Daggett and Elsie Smith, who instilled in her a love for learning and service. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her brother Donald, and her sister Judy, who all remain forever treasured in her heart. Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Dr. Robert E. Morse, her two loving sons, Uriah E. Morse and Robert Kenneth Morse, and her precious grandchild, who brought immense joy to her life. In 1967, Marie embarked on a beautiful journey of love and partnership when she married Bob Morse on August 5. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful boys who were the pride of her life. Marie's educational path led her from Fryeburg Academy to Barry University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. Her career as a librarian was more than a profession; it was a calling. Marie found immense joy in sparking a love for literature in the hearts of children. Her role as a substitute branch manager for the San Diego Public Library and her membership in the American Pen Women spoke to her dedication to the written word and her community. Marie was a woman of deep faith, actively contributing to her church communities wherever life took her. She served as the Christian Education Coordinator for two churches, each with congregations of 3,000, guiding young minds in their spiritual journeys. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond the church walls as she sponsored His Caring Place, a sanctuary for unwed mothers, offering them hope and support during challenging times. An avid writer, Marie's passion for storytelling was rivaled only by her love for her family. Her words had the power to inspire and uplift, much like her infectious smile that could light up the darkest of days. Marie's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of reaching out to others with genuine warmth and compassion. Marie Louise Daggett Morse leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and inspiration. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her spirit will continue to guide her family and friends in the years to come. In honoring her life, let us remember to carry forward her example of kindness and devotion, embracing each day with the same grace and gratitude that Marie so beautifully embodied.
