It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Marie Cooper, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully departed this world on May 11, 2026, after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. Marie was 74 years old, having been born on October 11, 1951, in the warm embrace of Jackson, Mississippi, to loving parents, Rose and JC Fitts, who have since preceded her in death.
Marie was a beacon of resilience and grace, embodying the very essence of perseverance throughout her life. Her journey, marked by both triumphs and trials, was a testament to her unwavering strength and enduring spirit. She was deeply devoted to her family, who were the center of her universe, and she poured her love into them with every fiber of her being.
Marie is survived by her beloved daughter, Tracy, and her devoted sons, Franklin, Steve, and Charles. Her legacy continues through her 12 cherished grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride into her life. She was a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and a wellspring of unconditional love, leaving an indelible mark on each of their hearts.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Marie knew her as a woman of profound kindness and generosity. She possessed an infectious smile that could brighten the darkest of days and a gentle, nurturing spirit that welcomed everyone with open arms. Marie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with moments of laughter, compassion, and steadfast love.
Though she has left this earthly realm, the memories of Marie's vibrant spirit will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift, reminding us all of the power of love and the importance of family.
In accordance with Marie's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her remarkable life and to honor the profound impact she has made on her family and friends. During this time of reflection and remembrance, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved parents, Rose and JC.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marie's memory to cancer research foundations, in hopes of advancing the fight against a disease that affects so many.
Marie Cooper will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she so generously shared with the world.
