She departed this world surrounded by the love of her family, in the comfort of her own home, after valiantly facing several illnesses with grace and strength in her final months. Born on December 31, 1935, in the town of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Marie was the daughter of George and Thelma Price. On November 23, 1953, Marie wed the love of her life, Robert D. Mayfield Sr., in a heartfelt ceremony in Calico Rock. Together they embarked on a journey of love and devotion that spanned an incredible 68 years. Robert preceded her in death on August 25, 2021, yet their love story remains an enduring testament to their commitment and partnership. Marie was the proud and loving mother to her two sons, Robert D. Mayfield Jr. and Scott A. Mayfield, who continue to honor her legacy through their lives and accomplishments. As a grandmother, her heart expanded with joy and pride for her eight grandchildren. Throughout her life, Marie was known for her warm heart and generous spirit.
