In Loving Memory

Marianne Brehm
August 15, 1937 — April 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Marianne Brehm, who peacefully departed this world on April 11, 2026, with her beloved family by her side. Born on August 15, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Marianne lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Marianne was the treasured daughter of George and Mary Roder, who preceded her in eternal rest, along with her dear grandson, Andrew Sheridan. She is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of 69 years, Robert Brehm, whom she married on July 13, 1957. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey from Chicago to Darien, IL, and eventually to their cherished home in Woodridge, IL, where they built a life rich in love and family.
A loving mother, Marianne is survived by her four daughters, Debbie (John) Smith, Donna Sheridan, Lori (Mike) Schatz, and MaryJo (Chris) Blankenship. Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, Sandi (Jared), Matthew (Michelle), Jason, Daniel (Ben), Amanda (Guillermo), Michael, Kevin (Christina), Jeff, Kelly (Cody), and Molly (Nathan), and 17 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Isabella, Andrew, Alex, Gabriella, Teagan, Tarynn, Savannah, Anthony, Lucas, Benjamin, Mia, Violet, Noah, Riley, Emma, and William, who fondly knew her as “Nana.”
Marianne graduated from Visitation High School in 1954 and embarked on a diverse career path. She served as an LRC clerk at Downers Grove South and took on roles as a secretary, office cleaner, and dental assistant. However, the roles she cherished most were those of a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her world, and she embraced these roles with love and devotion.
A woman of strong faith, Marianne was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was involved in the Younger Than Ever Seniors, often holding leadership positions. Her passion for travel, especially to Disney destinations, brought joy to her family. Marianne and Robert frequently traveled to Claremont, Florida, to escape the harsh winters, creating cherished memories with family at Disney parks.
Marianne's love for her family extended into her hobbies. She was known for planning and organizing trips for her community organizations, ensuring that everyone had a memorable experience. Sundays were special, as she opened her home to her family, hosting dinners filled with laughter and love.
Marianne's kind smile and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her ability to make friends with a friendly conversation was just one testament to her loving nature. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
As we bid farewell to Marianne, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring legacy of family. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her loved ones, and her memory will forever be a beacon of love and kindness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held to honor Marianne's life, with interment following at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Marianne's memory to a charity of your choice. Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, dear Marianne. Your love will forever be in our hearts.
