It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Marian May-Ling Chen Wong, who departed this world peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on May 24, 1946, in the vibrant city of Shanghai, China, Marian graced this world with her presence and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Marian was the beloved daughter of Chih-Wei and Wei-Yu, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and love. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Louis Wong, with whom she shared a profound and unwavering love. Married on July 5, 1986, Marian and Louis celebrated 32 years of marriage, filled with laughter, shared adventures, and an unbreakable bond. Their reunion in the afterlife is a testament to their enduring connection. Marian was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Cindy Chen Hui. Her legacy is carried on by her surviving siblings: her brother, Jones Chen, and her sisters, Janice Ng and Grace Chen. Marian was a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews—Jasmine, Justin, Audrey, Bridget, Catherine, Elsa, Phyllis, Clarence, Natasha, Ben, and Belinda—and a beloved great-aunt to Elias, Bradley, Rachael, Matthew, Jessica, Jackie, and Hannah. Her love and wisdom continued to inspire her great-grandnephews, James, Elijah, and Stellan. A woman of many talents, Marian was known for her remarkable culinary skills and her passion for fashion. She was the original foodie, delighting in the art of cooking and the joy of sharing meals with loved ones. Her impeccable sense of style was admired by all, as she effortlessly combined outfits, jewelry, shoes, and purses into ensembles that expressed her vibrant spirit. Marian was a pillar of her community, actively involved with the Tri-Valley Chinese Bible Church, where she was a cherished member of the choir. Her faith and dedication to her spiritual community were evident in her every action. She possessed a quiet yet profound sense of humor that brought joy to those around her, and she approached life with warmth and a positive outlook. Her love for family was unparalleled; she was the glue that held everyone together during holidays and cherished traditions. Marian was an exceptional teacher, imparting her knowledge of cooking, flower arranging, and Mandarin, but most importantly, she taught us all how to be kind, thoughtful, and positive individuals. Marian is also survived by her dear friends Stella and Manchiu, who shared in her laughter and supported her throughout her journey. A Funeral and Memorial of Marian's life will be held on May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park, located at 888 Lifemark Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. There will be a lunch served after at Koi Garden. There will be an additional celebration of life held on May 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Stoneridge Creek located at 3300 Stoneridge Creek Way, Pleasanton, CA 94588. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Stoneridge community for their unwavering support during this difficult time. In remembering Marian, we honor a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of bringing people together. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace that will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Louis, and forever remain in our hearts.
