Maria Teresita Rivera

September 23, 1955 — June 27, 2026

Maria Teresita Rivera, lovingly known as Teresita, peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on June 27, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on September 23, 1955, in the serene town of La Minzita, Michoacan, Mexico, Teresita lived a life rich in love, faith, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Teresita was the beloved daughter of Antonia Cortes and the late Nicolas Cortes. She is predeceased by her dear sister, Veronica Rivera. She is survived by her devoted mother, Antonia; her loving husband of 53 years, Amadeo Rivera; and their six children, Nicolas, Salvador, Lauro, Veronica, Elisa, and Jaime. Her family further blossomed with the addition of her daughters-in-law, Erika, Tannia, Veronica, and Karla, who became cherished members of her extensive family circle. Teresita's life was a testament to love and hospitality. Her home was a sanctuary where everyone was welcomed with open arms and a warm heart. Whether offering a hot plate of food or a comforting cup of coffee, she ensured that those who entered her home felt like family. Her straightforward nature was matched only by her immense generosity and kindness, qualities that endeared her to many. A dedicated servant of the Lord, Teresita embraced her faith with fervor from a young age. Her commitment to her local church, "Rios de Agua Viva," was unwavering. She passionately spread the gospel and spoke of God's love and salvation, touching countless lives through her ministry. Teresita's legacy lives on in her 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her loving spirit. Her sisters, Yolanda, Martha, and Maria de los Angeles, with whom she shared a special, unbreakable bond, will forever cherish her memory. In honoring Teresita's life, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to her beloved church, "Rios de Agua Viva," to continue the work she was so passionate about. While her departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, the love she shared and the lessons she imparted remain as a guiding light for her family and friends. Maria Teresita Rivera will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
