Maria Salinas De Refugio

March 5, 1937 — May 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Maria Salinas De Refugio, who peacefully left this world on May 11, 2026, at the age of 89. Maria was born on March 5, 1937, in the charming town of Parras, Coahuila, Mexico, to her loving parents, Antonio and Cruz Salinas. Maria was a woman of unwavering faith and strength, traits that were nurtured in her by her parents and extended to her siblings, some of whom have predeceased her, including Isidro Medina, Inez Medina, and Maria Jimenez. Maria is survived by her siblings Lupe Mata Medina, Martin Medina, and Jeno Rincon Medina, who share in the sorrow of her passing. Her heart was captured 58 years ago by her devoted husband, Marcos Antonio, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love and partnership. Together, they built a family that became the centerpiece of Maria’s world. She leaves behind her beloved children, Marydel Sapien, Dolores Salinas, Rachael Salinas, Rebecca Salinas, and Marco Salinas, Jr., each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness and dedication. A cornerstone of her family, Maria was cherished by her grandchildren, Kieyna, Isai, Denise, Isaac, Sabrina, David Nathaniel, and Kendra. Her warmth and guidance extended to her great-grandchildren, Izabella, Alivia, Joseph, Elijah, Liam, Islasky, Paris, Victoria, Brylee, Braydon, Ava, and Javier Jose (JJ), who will forever cherish their memories with her. Maria was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness, finding joy and fulfillment in sharing her faith and hope with others through her door-to-door ministry. Her commitment to her beliefs was a testament to her character and brought peace and purpose to her life. An avid gardener, Maria found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Her gardens were a reflection of her nurturing spirit, filled with vibrant flowers and lush plants that she cared for with love and dedication. Her passion for gardening was matched only by her love for her family, with whom she cherished spending time, often surrounded by the natural beauty she cultivated. Maria will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering dedication as a wife, mother, and grandmother, and her ability to find joy in simple pleasures. Her legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience, qualities that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial service to honor Maria's life will be held on June 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Legends Funeral Home, located at 10935 North SH123, Seguin, TX 78155. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available at https://legendstricounty.com. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the memories we shared with Maria and the impact she had on our lives. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched, and we are eternally grateful for the time we had with her.
