Maria Lourdes P. Eugenio, affectionately known as "Malou," peacefully departed this world on July 30, 2026, after a courageous battle against her illness. She was born on January 18, 1961, in Pasig City, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life. Malou was the beloved daughter of Marcelino "Nenong" and Apolonia "Onying" Eugenio, who instilled in her a deep sense of faith and community. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, her older siblings Celia, George, and Carlos Eugenio, brothers-in-law Eusebio "Seb" Sison and Romy Ballesteros, and her oldest niece Cynthia Ballesteros-Marcelo. She is survived by her devoted older sister Angelina "Lina" Sison, loving sisters-in-law Pacita "Chit" Eugenio and Winona "Winnie" Eugenio, and a large extended family that includes numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she delighted in nurturing and showering them with love and care. A graduate of Pasig Catholic College, Malou dedicated her life to the service of her community. She tirelessly volunteered as a Catechist at Immaculate Conception Parish in Pasig, where her selfless love for the church and its members was evident to all who knew her. Her giving spirit and infectious sense of humor left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Malou had a penchant for storytelling, often regaling her family with jokes, and she had an undeniable fondness for food, especially chicken feet, and a variety of snacks, which she shared generously. Malou's life will be celebrated at a service on August 2, 2026, at Loyola Guadalupe. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help pay for Malou's hospital bills, honoring her legacy of compassion and community care. Maria Lourdes P. Eugenio will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her boundless generosity, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
