April 4, 1946 — September 27, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria J. Laracuente, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, who left this world on September 27, 2026. Maria was born on April 4, 1946, in the sunlit city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, a place that instilled in her a deep love for life and a spirit that was as warm and inviting as the Caribbean sun. Maria's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. Known affectionately as "Mama" Maria, she lived a long and fulfilling life, enriching the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Her generous spirit and compassionate nature were the cornerstones of her existence, as she consistently offered a warm, charitable, and caring heart to all who crossed her path. Her love was a gift, freely given and deeply felt, a sentiment that many would find hard to reciprocate in equal measure but were grateful to receive. An active member of the Church of the Redeemer, Maria found great joy in participating in various church group activities, where her presence was always a source of comfort and cheer. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing her with strength and solace and inspiring those around her to embrace their own spirituality. Maria's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted sister, Luz Hernandez, and her brother-in-law, Mario. Her daughter, Judi Cramer, and son-in-law, Tom, as well as her three sons, Ray and his wife Annette, John and his wife Tina, and Hector Laracuente, carry forward the values and love she imparted. Maria also leaves behind five adoring grandchildren—Anthony, Jazmin, Jennica, Max, and Nicole—along with seven great-grandchildren: Danihesky, Jocelyn, Daniela, Galina, Gabriel, Emma, and Benjamin, each a testament to her enduring legacy of love. A service to honor and celebrate Maria's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Church of the Redeemer, located at 19425 Woodfield Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20879, United States. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Maria are invited to gather in remembrance of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that would undoubtedly honor Maria's selfless spirit and enduring desire to give back to the world she cherished so dearly. Maria J. Laracuente will forever remain in our hearts, her legacy woven into the fabric of our lives. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Maria J. Laracuente welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
