In Loving Memory of Margie Murphy With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Margie Murphy, who left this world peacefully on April 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on January 3, 1959, in the charming town of Bowden, North Carolina, Margie graced the world with her presence for 67 years, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Margie was the cherished daughter of Lena Mae Murphy and David Jordan, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and love. She was preceded in death by her dear brother, Richard Murphy, whose memory she held close. Margie is survived by her loving children, Savannah and Michael Murphy, who were her pride and joy, and siblings Deborah Wilson, Patricia Murphy Hayes, and brothers David and Gene Murphy, who shared in her life's journey with unwavering support and love. Graduating from Pender High School in 1977, Margie's adventurous spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a flight attendant with American Airlines, where she worked for over 20 years. Her dedication to her work was matched only by the warmth and kindness with which she treated her passengers and colleagues. Margie's quick wit and radiant smile had the remarkable ability to light up any room, making everyone she met feel loved and valued. Though Margie had no grandchildren, her love extended to her nieces Christie Wilson, Ilana Murphy, and Lakeysha Murphy Coryatt; nephews Roman Wilson, Darryl Murphy, and Von Murphy; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, and cherished friends, who all experienced the joy of her boundless heart. A celebration of Margie's life will be held on April 26, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York, located at 110-31 Merrick Blvd, Jamaica, NY, 111433. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Northewell Women's Pavilion for the compassionate care they provided during her final days. As we gather to honor Margie's memory, we carry her spirit within us, reminding us to embrace life with love, laughter, and grace. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Margie's name to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to her generous spirit and enduring compassion. "Forever In Our Hearts."
