September 20, 1932 — September 30, 2026

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we celebrate the life of Margie Abbott, who passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on September 20, 1932, in Guide Rock, Nebraska, Margie lived a life filled with love, family, and community service. Margie was the beloved daughter of the late George Ray Scripture and Nina Scripture. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Raymond Abbott, and her cherished daughter, Lynne Abbott Marston. Margie's legacy lives on through her surviving children, Ronald Eugene Abbott and his wife Cheryl of Boise, and Lora Abbott Ulrich and her husband Steve of Kuna. She was also a proud grandmother to Stephanie Obendorf Jenkins, Michael Obendorf, and Leslie Marston Morthland, and a loving great-grandmother to their children. Margie's life was enriched by her brother, Gaylord Scripture, and his wife Barbara of Parma, who shared in her journey through the years. In her youth, Margie attended Parma High School and graduated in May of 1950. It was shortly thereafter, on December 26, 1950, in Winnemucca, Nevada, that she married the love of her life, Raymond Abbott. Together, they built a life in Roswell, farming and contributing to their community for many years. Margie began her career working for Bill Dobbs at the Parma Theater, and later for Parma Water Lifter. After dedicating herself to raising her family, she found fulfillment working with the Idaho Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association in Parma. Margie's commitment to her community extended to her active membership at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she held the office of Deacon and graciously volunteered in the church library. Alongside Ray, she served as treasurer for the church, embodying a spirit of service and dedication. In her leisure time, Margie found joy and solace in reading, a passion that kept her mind vibrant and her spirit full. The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have shared in Margie's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice, reflecting Margie's enduring commitment to her faith and community.
