Margaret was born on April 2, 1963, to her loving parents, Charles Polk and Candace Jihnsin, who provided a nurturing and supportive environment that she carried forward throughout her life. Margaret was predeceased by her father, Charles Polk, and her dear mother, Mary Johnson. She is survived by her large and loving family, which includes her 18 sisters, 2 brothers, her beloved children Robert Polk and Regina Polk, and her three adored grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to their happiness and success. Margaret spent 21 years as an inspiring and dedicated school teacher at Booker T. Washington High School, where she touched the lives of countless students. Her passion for education and unwavering commitment to her students' growth and learning left an indelible mark on the community. Her colleagues and students remember her as a beacon of kindness and wisdom, always ready with a warm smile and a word of encouragement. Outside of her professional life, Margaret found joy in the simple pleasures of cooking and the challenge of jigsaw puzzles. Her culinary skills were renowned among family and friends, who often gathered around her table to enjoy meals crafted with love. The kitchen was her sanctuary, where she shared laughter, stories, and the art of creating delicious dishes. In quieter moments, she found solace and satisfaction in piecing together puzzles, a reflection of her patient and thoughtful nature. A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 4155 R.L. Thornton Frwy. Friends and family are invited to gather in her memory, to share stories, and to honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Margaret's generous spirit and her commitment to the betterment of the community. Margaret Polk was a woman of grace, strength, and boundless love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
