Margaret "Peggy" Sabo Janson

Margaret "Peggy" Janson, a beloved member of her community and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully at age 89 in the Cambridge Hospice program in Moorestown, NJ. Born on October 21, 1936, in Camden, NJ, Peggy was the daughter of Francis L. and Rebecca J. (Taylor) Sabo. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Peggy married the love of her life, Louis F. Janson, in May 1977, and together they built a life filled with warmth and devotion until his passing. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis, her parents, Francis & Rebecca, and her brother, Francis Sabo. Peggy's family was her pride and joy, and she is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Carol (Henry) Sabo, along with close family members Keith and Jo Janson-Wills, Traci (Wills) Rossi, Wendi (Wills) Bigelow, and Terry (Janson) Schumann. She is also survived by her cherished stepchildren, Louis Janson, Marshall Janson, and Kathy (Janson) Purdie. Her pastor, James P. Hargrove, and many nieces and nephews She attended Burlington High School. Peggy embarked on her career as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone and later served as a cafeteria aide at Burlington City High School. Her work reflected her generous spirit and commitment to serving others. Peggy was a devout Christian, whose faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Freehold, NJ, and had previously been an active participant in the congregations of St. Mary's and St. Barnabas Episcopal Churches in Burlington, NJ. Her dedication to her faith community was evident in her unwavering support and involvement over the years. In her leisure time, Peggy found joy in gardening and crocheting, pursuits that mirrored her nurturing nature and her love for creating beauty in the world. Her gardens were a testament to her patience and care, while her crochet creations were gifts of warmth and love. A graveside service to honor and celebrate Peggy's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at Oddfellows Cemetery, Beverly Road, Burlington, NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a woman whose life was a testament to kindness, faith, and family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you donate to a charity of your choice in Peggy's memory, allowing her legacy of generosity and compassion to live on.
