Margaret Mary Savoie

November 23, 1949 — June 19, 2026

Margaret Mary Savoie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 23, 1949, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Margaret lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She was the cherished daughter of Eva and Joseph B. Webre Sr., who, alongside her beloved husband Sidney J. Savoie III, and her siblings Joseph, Warren, Carroll, Nelson, Tommy, Jeannette, Brenda, and Connie, predeceased her. Margaret shared 28 joyful years of marriage with Sidney, whom she married on December 30, 1967. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Kelly McDonald (Dwayne) and Shane Savoie (Christina), who were the pride and joy of their lives. Her family grew with the addition of her grandchildren Ashley Bottolfs (Ryan), Justin McDonald, Shane Savoie Jr., and Emily Savoie, and a great-grandson, Brayden Bottolfs, who brought her endless delight and laughter. A woman of many talents and interests, Margaret dedicated her life to nurturing those around her, both at home and in her work. She lovingly served as a caretaker at Hammond State School, where her kind spirit and genuine care left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Later, she brought her warm smile and welcoming nature to her role as a greeter at Walmart and also worked in sales. Her colleagues and customers alike appreciated her engaging personality and her ability to brighten anyone's day with a touch of her signature sarcasm. Margaret was a devoted Christian and an active member of Wardline Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. Her love for God was paralleled only by her love for her family, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her home was often filled with the joyful sounds of laughter as she gathered loved ones around for an evening of books, puzzles, and games, all of which she enjoyed immensely. Margaret's legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends who were touched by her kindness and humor. Her nieces and nephews, along with her immediate family, will forever remember her as a woman whose love for life and others was immeasurable. As we celebrate Margaret's life, we are reminded of her resilience and the joy she brought to those around her. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. May her soul rest in the eternal peace of God's embrace, reunited with those she loved and missed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Margaret's memory to Wardline Baptist Church, to continue the work that she held so dear to her heart.
