Margaret Marie Urps Ransom

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Marie Urps Ransom, a beloved sister, aunt, friend, and dedicated public servant. Margaret left this world on July 23, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on July 9, 1955, at the Orlando Air Force Base in Florida to Bob and Janis Urps, who predeceased her, along with her brother, James Urps, and her cherished husband, Gerald H. Ransom. Margaret's life was a testament to the values of love, loyalty, and service. She grew up in a close-knit family and graduated high school in May 1973. Her life took a joyful turn when she married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Ransom, on February 28, 1983. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. Though Jerry preceded her in death, Margaret always carried his memory with her, cherishing the years they spent together. Margaret dedicated over three decades of her life to serving the people of Idaho through her work with the State of Idaho's Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division. Her commitment and professionalism knew no bounds, and she continued to serve as a temporary employee for another 22 years after her official retirement. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of reliability and kindness, always willing to lend a listening ear or offer sage advice. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Margaret was a woman of deep compassion and nurturing spirit. She formed lasting connections with those around her, sharing her wisdom and warmth generously. Her surviving sister, Estelle Thomas, was not only her sibling but her confidante, and their bond was unbreakable. Margaret's legacy also lives on in the countless friendships she cultivated throughout her life. Margaret's journey was marked by resilience and grace, and she faced life's challenges with a steadfast heart. Her unwavering faith and love for her family and friends were the cornerstones of her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures, from tending her garden to sharing stories over a cup of tea.
