October 19, 1936 — August 17, 2026

Margaret Louise Kanouff, fondly known as "Peg," passed away peacefully at the Gatehouse in Williamsport, Pa, on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of her faith. Born on October 19, 1936, in Renovo, Pa, Peg was the beloved daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Naughton. Peg was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard "Roy" Kanouff, her cherished daughter Sonia Taylor, sons-in-law Len Taylor and Sid Hernandez, and her brother, Donald Naughton. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her surviving children: James E., Betty Mae, Donald L., Barbara, and Troy E. Her memory will also be cherished by her 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Peg and Roy shared many beautiful years together, raising six children and building a life filled with love and laughter. Her education at Saint Joes in Renovo, Pa, laid the foundation for a life of dedication and hard work. She held various jobs and eventually retired from Baily Controls, only to find joy in returning to work as a campground manager—a role she truly enjoyed. A woman of faith, Peg was a regular attender at the Community Baptist Church in Montoursville, Pa. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit; she loved camping with the Stout family, playing the piano and bass, and bowling with dear friends Sunny and Louise Hill. Later in life, Peg found delight in coloring and keeping score for those playing Wordle. Peg was known for her independence and determination. When she set her mind to something, it was accomplished, come rain or shine. Her unwavering spirit and the warmth of her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A service to celebrate Peg's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Community Baptist Church, located at 1853 PA-87, Montoursville, Pa. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ladies at the Gatehouse for making Peg's final days as comfortable as possible. They also extend their thanks to the many who reached out with love, calls, texts, and prayers during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Peg's honor, as she was always one to give to those in need. Her legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
