Margaret Kaye Sands

July 20, 1942 — March 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Margaret Kaye Sands, who departed this world on March 27, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 20, 1942, in the beautiful state of Washington, Margaret's journey was marked by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late James Edward Sands II, whom she married on May 10, 1963. Together, they shared 58 years of devoted partnership, raising a family anchored in the values of honor, hard work, and dedication. Margaret and James built a home filled with laughter and love, nurturing their three children—Scott, Teresa, and Jimmy—who remain to cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy. In addition to her children, Margaret leaves behind her brother, Eddie, and her five treasured grandchildren: Nathan, Zack, Jade, Ryan, and Spencer. Her family was the light of her life, and she was a steadfast cheerleader at every school and sporting event, always there with a smile and words of encouragement. Margaret's life was one of service, both to her family and her country. She proudly served in the US Army, embodying the spirit of sacrifice and dedication that would define her later years. Known for wearing many hats, Margaret was a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, classroom mom, checker, lunch lady, and, above all, a full-time wife, mom, and grandmother. Her life was a testament to the power and impact of a mother's love and support. Her hobbies reflected her creative spirit and her dedication to family. She found joy in sewing and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her family for generations. Her love of bingo brought her together with friends and community, while her presence at family events ensured that no milestone went uncelebrated. Margaret was known for her exceptional memory and her unwavering, steadfast dedication to being there for anyone who needed her. Her compassionate heart and generous spirit touched all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on her community and all those fortunate enough to call her a friend. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James, and her dear friend, Pat Whitney, who predeceased her. Though she has left this world, her spirit and the lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A service to honor Margaret's life will be held on April 30, 2026, at the VA Cemetery in Boulder City. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember a woman of great strength, love, and kindness. Margaret Kaye Sands will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local veteran's organization or a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Margaret's spirit of giving and service. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her, and forever remembered by those she leaves behind.
