Margaret Ann Magliano
July 9, 1959 — June 12, 2026
In loving memory of Margaret Ann Magliano, affectionately known as Peg, who passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 9, 1959, in the vibrant heart of Philadelphia, PA, Peg was a beacon of light and laughter, whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Peg leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion, cherished by her devoted husband of 47 years, James Magliano. Their story began at Swann Oil Company, where a young secretary met a budding computer programmer, igniting a lifelong partnership that was celebrated on February 28, 1979, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Together, they nurtured a family of seven children: Sharon (Rick), Christine, James Jr. (Kerrie), Jacob, Matthew, and Alisha (Joe), each of whom carry forward her legacy of love.
A woman of many talents, Peg was never idle. Her career traversed various paths, from her skilled hands as a professional seamstress to a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant. She managed college bookstores at Ursinus and Cabrini Colleges and even shared her creative crafts at the local Hallmark store. Yet, her most treasured role was that of a homemaker, where she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family.
Peg's culinary skills were legendary, with dishes like her famous chicken noodle salad and potato soup becoming family favorites, and her Italian cooking inspired by her Grandmom's cherished cookbook. A gifted crocheter and seamstress, Peg's creations were tokens of her love, shared generously with those she held dear.
Her quick wit and irreverent sense of humor brought joy to every gathering, never failing to elicit laughter and smiles. Peg genuinely loved people, taking delight in learning about their lives, and she had an extraordinary ability to make friends wherever she went. Her fondness for babies and small children was evident, as she showered them with affection and playful banter.
Predeceased by her beloved parents, William and Mary Ellen Morrissey, and siblings William, Catherine, and John, Peg is survived by her siblings Mike, Mary, and Anne, who remember her with deep affection. Her legacy continues through her ten adored grandchildren: Nathan, Norman, Madison, Catherine, Lillian, Brooklyn, Carter, James III, Juliette, and Lydia, each a testament to her enduring love and vibrant spirit.
Peg's family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at MUSC for their excellent care during her final days. Although a private ceremony will honor her life, those wishing to celebrate Peg’s memory can do so through donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a cause close to her heart. As Peg's family gathered around her, with Jim and Sharon holding her hands, she left this world as she had lived it—surrounded by love. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her, a gentle reminder of the joy she brought to our lives and the love that continues to bind us together. Rest in peace, beloved Peg, your memory will be cherished always.
