Margaret Allison Sadler

March 31, 1948 — September 6, 2026

Margaret Allison Sadler, known affectionately as Lissa, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, in the loving presence of her family. Born on March 31, 1948, in Bristol, Virginia, Lissa graced the world with her warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness. Lissa was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Glenna Barnousky, and she was predeceased by her beloved parents, sister Linda Barnes, and brother-in-law Larry Barnes. Her legacy of love and resilience continues through her devoted husband of 50 years, Raleigh Douglas Sadler, her son, Raleigh Joseph Sadler, nephews Joseph Aaron Barnes and Michael Barnes, and stepson Steven Neal Sadler. Lissa was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, who brought joy to her life. In the spring of 1977, Lissa married Raleigh D. Sadler, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their home was a haven, nurturing their son with unconditional love and support. A graduate of Virginia Baptist Hospital's School of Nursing in 1969, Lissa dedicated her life to caring for others. Her career as a registered nurse saw her serve in various hospitals, including Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida. In her later years, she contributed her skills to the Brevard Child Care Association, always guided by a deep commitment to her community. Though health challenges later in life limited her physical abilities, Lissa's spirit remained vibrant and engaged. She was an avid crocheter, and her curiosity led her to explore numerous hobbies. Her love for history and adventure found an outlet in binge-watching WWII documentaries and the show Survivor. Her humor and warmth were ever-present, and her family fondly remembers her saying that her son inherited his "schmoozing" skills from her. Lissa's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she held a cherished membership at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa, Florida. Despite being unable to attend in person for many years, she maintained a strong connection with her church community through updates and prayers. A service to honor Lissa's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. David's By The Sea, located at 600 S. 4th Street, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to LET MY PEOPLE GO in Lissa's memory. The Sadler family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them with care, love, and prayers throughout the years. Lissa's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
