Margaret Addison Dabney, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 80 at HCA Virginia Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Born on August 23, 1946, in Sumter, South Carolina, Margaret was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Jeneatte Fortune. She was raised in a vibrant and loving household, alongside her siblings David Lee Addison Jr., Jerry Addison, Eleanor Addison Parrot, and Mary Fortune, all of whom have predeceased her. Margaret was a devoted mother to her daughters Pamela Sullivan, Joyce Fortune, and Sandra Blanding. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in nurturing her nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, including Linda Addison, Sharon Huggins, Sherman Huggins, Jasmine Kierra Sullivan, Kourtney Blanding, Ericka Joi Addison, Keavona-Keyvon Addison-Lipscomb, Ricardo Robinson, Ventrell Huggins, and Christopher Brayboy, among others. Margaret's legacy of love and resilience continues to shine through her family, who were fortunate to be guided by her wisdom and grace. Margaret's life was a testament to her enduring strength, compassion, and dedication to those she loved. Her home was always open, serving as a sanctuary of warmth where countless nieces, nephews, and friends found comfort and guidance. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though her passing leaves a void, Margaret's memory will forever be cherished by her family and the countless lives she touched. Her infectious laughter and loving spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Margaret's life and legacy. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Margaret's memory to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, a cause she held close to her heart. Margaret Addison Dabney's life was a beautiful journey of love, resilience, and compassion. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
