Marcus departed from this world on July 30, 2026, at the age of 78, in Sacramento, his lifelong home. He succumbed to a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on April 12, 1948, to Isaiah and Della Harris, Marcus was a beacon of kindness and wisdom to all who knew him. Raised in a nurturing household, he carried forward the values of compassion, integrity, and dedication throughout his life. Marcus attended MLK, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and mentorship, which he generously shared with everyone he encountered. Marcus was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Theresa Booth. Together, they built a life rich in love and shared dreams. His family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of those he held dear. Marcus was blessed with the joy of being a grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, each of whom he adored and who brought light into his life. Preceded in death by his son, Stephan Booth, and grandchildren, Stephan Booth Jr., Catrice Booth, and Constance Booth, Marcus leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Booth, and a host of other relatives and friends who cherished his presence and wisdom. Marcus was a man of quiet strength and profound empathy. His gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a dedicated patron to several causes and believed deeply in giving back to the community that shaped him. A service to honor Marcus's remarkable life will be held on August 8, 2026.
