Marcia was the beloved daughter of the late Mitchell Preston Wells and Hildegarde Eward Wells. She spent her formative years in Denton, Texas, where she began to cultivate the love for learning and literature that would guide her throughout her life. Her academic journey led her to Tulane University and subsequently the University of North Carolina, where she earned a bachelor's degree in library science. Marcia’s thirst for knowledge didn't stop there; she pursued and achieved a master’s degree from The University of South Carolina. While at college, she was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, forming bonds and friendships that enriched her life. In 1959, Marcia married the love of her life, LCDR Charles West Jacocks III, US Navy (Ret.), embarking on a remarkable journey together that spanned 64 years. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their unwavering love and dedication to one another. Charles preceded her in death, as did her brother, Mitchell Ewart Wells, and her sister, Hilde Wells Slocum. Marcia’s professional life was marked by a deep commitment to education and the nurturing of young minds. As the librarian at Hammond Lower School, she inspired countless children, instilling in them a passion for reading and discovery. Her legacy in education is one of inspiration and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her students. A devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Marcia's faith was a source of strength and solace. Her intellect and wit shone through in her love for Bridge, where she was an avid player, participating in numerous Bridge groups. Her gifted piano playing filled her home with melodies, and her love for Agatha Christie mysteries was a testament to her inquisitive spirit. Marcia's legacy continues through her cherished family, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Charles West Jacocks, IV (Carrie), Dr. Mitchell W. Jacocks, Sr. (Ramona), and William Mason Jacocks (Melissa). Her grandchildren, Dr. Charles Edward Jacocks (Holly), Richard West Jacocks (Meghan), James Preston Jacocks, Ann Grace Jacocks, M.
