Marcelo passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 51, leaving a legacy of joy, kindness, and unwavering love. Marcelo was born on January 31, 1975, in the vibrant landscapes of Guatemala, to Timoteo Juan Vasquez and Tomasa Juana Garcia Ixchajchal. His early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the rich cultural tapestry of his birthplace. Marcelo was a spirited individual, whose laughter and boundless energy were infectious to all around him. He was a devoted son, and his father's guiding presence remained with him even after Timoteo's passing. In Marcelo's life journey, he was blessed with a loving family. He shared a beautiful marriage with Carlota Ixchajchal, his partner and confidant, with whom he created a home filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful daughters, Fabiola, Karla, and Marcela, who were the very essence of his pride and joy. Marcelo's family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Marcelo was an individual of many passions, chief among them his love for soccer. He was an avid supporter of Real Madrid, and his enthusiasm for the game was unmatched. Those who knew him will fondly remember his animated discussions about matches and his unwavering loyalty to his team. His love for soccer was a reflection of his zest for life—a life filled with vibrant energy and endless conversations. Travel was another of Marcelo's great loves. He found joy in exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and sharing these experiences with those he loved. His adventures were a testament to his curious spirit and his desire to embrace all that life had to offer. Beyond his interests, Marcelo was known for his remarkably happy disposition and his natural gift for conversation. Marcelo's warmth and genuine nature endeared him to many, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Marcelo is survived by his beloved wife, Carlota, and his daughters Fabiola, Karla, and Marcela. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his mother, Tomasa Juana Garcia, and a host of siblings, cousins, and beloved grandchildren including Elisa, Leonardo, Brenda, Fernando, Wilbert, and many more. Though he is no longer with us, the love and memories he shared with his family will forever be cherished. In addition to his father, Marcelo was predeceased by his brother Anibal Vidal Vaquez, and his grandparents Lorenzo Francisco Vasquez, Leon Ceo Cruz, and Anastasia Ventura Ixchajchal. We find solace in the thought that he is now reunited with them, embraced by their love once more. Marcelo's life was a testament to joy, love, and the power of a kind heart. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we honor his memory by celebrating the joy he brought into our lives. His smile, his laughter, and his love will remain in our hearts forever.
