December 21, 1943 — March 24, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Marcella Ann (Fickbohm) Brechel, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Marcella peacefully departed this world on March 24, 2026, at the age of 82 in Marble Falls, Texas, finding eternal rest after bravely facing complications due to lymphoma.
Born on December 21, 1943, in Algona, Iowa, Marcella was the daughter of James Edward (JE) Fickbohm and Mabel Arelene (Zeigler) Fickbohm. Growing up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marcella's early years were filled with laughter and love. Her life journey took her to various beautiful locations, raising her family in Lake Tahoe, California, and later calling Kalispell, Montana; Boise, Idaho; and finally, Bertram, Texas, her home.
Marcella pursued her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school in Newhall, California, in the early 1960s. She dedicated herself to her profession with creativity and skill, working as a cosmetologist until her retirement in 2014. Her work brought joy and confidence to countless clients throughout her career, reflecting her commitment and artistry.
Beyond her professional life, Marcella found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a remarkable green thumb, and her love for gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her home. She delighted in spending time in her yard, where she could often be found puttering around with content smile.
Marcella's legacy is carried on by her surviving daughter Cynthia (Ted Reynolds), her granddaughters Jacqueline (Dan Haddenham) and Nikki Tiewater, and her great-grandchildren Athena, Orion, Olympia, Aurora, Layla, and Carter. She is also survived by her brothers, Steve and Robert Fickbohm, and sister, Loretta Kirkbride. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we take solace in knowing she is reunited with her predeceased loved ones, including her son Eric, brother Jimmy, and sisters LuLinda, Monica and Mary, and her parents.
Marcella's life was celebrated privately, in accordance to her wishes, surrounded by those she held dear. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her as we honor the love and laughter she shared with us.
