January 3, 1959 — October 13, 2026
Marcelene Rose Roberson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on January 3, 1959, in the quaint town of Manistee, Michigan, Marcelene was the cherished daughter of Larney Dickeson and Charlotte Kraus Nielson. She was blessed with a loving family and a vibrant community that shaped her into the remarkable woman so many came to adore.
Marcelene's life was a testament to the power of kindness and strength. She possessed a heart that loved to help those around her, a trait she carried with grace and fervor throughout her life. Known for her stubborn and strong-minded nature, Marcelene was a force of unwavering determination, always standing up for what she believed in and encouraging others to do the same.
Her love for nature was most prominently displayed through her fondness for butterflies, which she found to be symbols of beauty and transformation. She often spent peaceful afternoons watching them dance through the air, finding joy in their delicate flight. This passion for the natural world was complemented by her love for collecting jewelry, each piece a treasure that held a special memory or meaning.
Marcelene was predeceased by her beloved parents, her stepfather Darrelle Nielson, her grandparents Robert and Regina Kraus, and her sister Iris Renee Watts. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Roberson, who was her steadfast partner in life and love. Together, they nurtured a family that was the center of Marcelene's world.
She leaves behind her three beloved children: Hope Cogswell, David Cogswell (Kristy), and Clayton Cogswell (Becca), who continue to carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. Her nine grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and dreams. Marcelene is also survived by her sister, Michele Petrantis (George), her brother, Arvin Jay Krause, stepsisters Debbie Goldberg and Kippi O'Niel, and many other loving family members who will miss her dearly.
While we mourn the loss of Marcelene, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless hearts she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
