Marc Eillot Lawrence, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on November 13, 1948, in Centralia, Illinois, Marc was the beloved son of Lee Lawrence and Mary (Daniels) Lawrence. Marc spent his entire life in Centralia, where he built a loving family and a successful career. He married the love of his life, Margaret (Hails) Lawrence, on January 14, 1970. Together, they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage and raised three wonderful daughters: Kimberly Hart and her husband Jeff of Mount Vernon, Kathy Martin and her husband Steve of Centralia, and Ora Jane Price and her husband Ryan of Woodlawn. A devoted family man, Marc was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Andrew Lawrence, Alicha Henry, Nathan Sanders, Whitney Genet and her husband Jon of Galatia, Jordan Sanders and his wife Emylee of Woodlawn, Trinity Phanthavady and her boyfriend Kaleb Keele, Marc Lawrence, and Marseline Lawrence of Woodlawn. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lacey Lawrence and Brinley Sanders, who brought immense joy to his later years. Marc’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Lawrence Auto Body and Salvage in 1975. His hard work and dedication ensured the success of the business, which supported his family for decades. In addition to his professional endeavors, Marc was passionate about caring for livestock, including goats, chickens, sheep, and donkeys. His hobby of collecting and restoring antique tractors was one of his greatest joys, along with the annual tradition of baling hay. A man who cherished the simple pleasures in life, Marc loved fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Marc is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, his three daughters and their families, and his sister, Mary Lee Hollaway, and her husband Erine of Mount Vernon. He was predeceased by his parents, Lee and Mary Lawrence. In keeping with Marc’s wishes, there will be no service. In honor of his memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice. Marc Lawrence will be remembered for his unwavering love, dedication to his family, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
