Manuel Valverde Barela Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026. Born on May 25, 1952, in Orange County, California, Manuel was the cherished son of Theodore and Rachel Barela. He was a man of great warmth, wisdom, and humor, who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Manuel was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Rachel, his brothers Dan, Ted, and Robert, his sisters Lucy and Doloras, and his beloved wife Debbie Barela. Manuel and Debbie shared a beautiful life together, marrying on January 6, 1980. Over their 41 years of marriage, they raised three wonderful children and created countless cherished memories until Debbie's passing in 2021.
Manuel is survived by his devoted children, Loraine and her husband Scott, Manuel Jr. and his wife Jamie, and Ray and his wife Heather. His legacy of love and kindness lives on in his eight grandchildren: Chris, Anthony, Andrew, Ethan, Adrian, Ava, Elijah, and Aiden, who were the pride and joy of his life. Manuel's siblings Andy, Jerry, Ernest, Carolina, Gloria, and Alice also survive him, and they will miss him dearly.
Throughout his life, Manuel was known for his generosity and his unwavering support of family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. His infectious laughter and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
A service to celebrate Manuel's life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at SunnySlope, located at 1125 Rimpau Ave, Corona, CA 92879. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Manuel's giving spirit.
As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Manuel Valverde Barela Sr., we hold onto the special memories and the love he shared with all of us. Forever in our hearts, Manuel will be remembered for his compassion, strength, and the profound impact he had on those around him.
