September 29, 1959 — June 1, 2026

It is with deep sadness, yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Manuel C. Ochoa, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Manuel left this earthly realm on June 1, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 29, 1959, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Manuel was the cherished son of Paula Aguilar. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Marin, and his grandmother, Trinidad Solis, whose memories he held dear throughout his life. Manuel was a proud graduate of Sydney Lanier High School, where he cultivated a love for learning that he carried into his life's work and personal interests. For more than 20 years, Manuel devoted himself to his dual passions of taxi driving and landscaping. His love for plants and flowers was known to all; he found joy and tranquility in nurturing nature’s beauty. A devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Manuel never missed a game, and he was equally enthusiastic about attending his granddaughters’ basketball tournaments. His two granddaughters were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent cheering them on from the sidelines. Known for his delightful sense of humor, Manuel was always ready with a corny dad joke to brighten someone’s day. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Manuel's legacy lives on through his loving family: his children, Sandra Ochoa, Gilbert Ochoa, Connie Navarez, and Jose Luis Valle, who will carry forward his spirit of love and generosity. His grandchildren will continue to feel his presence in their hearts and lives. To honor and celebrate Manuel’s life, a service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1281 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a life full of love, laughter, and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Honoring Manuel Ochoa's Memory Memorial Fund at https://gofund.me/43953bdb0. This fund will help perpetuate Manuel’s legacy of kindness and support for those in need. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the San Antonio Fire Department and SAPD for their compassion and unwavering dedication. Your kindness and support have been a source of comfort during this difficult time. Manuel C. Ochoa will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
