Mamie Lou Harrish

July 22, 1942 — September 12, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Mamie Lou Harrish, who departed this world on September 12, 2026. Born on July 22, 1942, in Wrightsville, Georgia, Mamie was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Mamie was the cherished daughter of the late John and Omilee Robinson. She grew up surrounded by love and warmth, a foundation that she carried with her throughout her life. She graduated from Mary Fleming High School in 1963 and furthered her education at Lewis Business College, where she honed the skills that would support her varied and vibrant career. Mamie was a woman of many talents and passions. She ran her own restaurant, Snack-N-Go, where her culinary talents were celebrated by all who had the pleasure of tasting her cooking. Her skills as a seamstress were legendary, as she crafted bridesmaid and prom dresses that were as beautiful and unique as the people who wore them. Mamie's professional journey continued at Georgia Tech, where she dedicated 20 years of service before retiring in 2008. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Mamie found salvation at Buckeye Baptist Church and later joined Evergreen Baptist Church alongside her beloved husband, Isaac Harrish. Her devotion was evident in her service on the Usher Board #1, Jr. Usher Board, hospitality committee, and as a Deaconess. Her kind soul and deep faith were a source of inspiration to her church community and beyond. On July 24, 1968, Mamie married the love of her life, Isaac Harrish. Together, they shared 47 wonderful years, filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Though Isaac preceded her in death, their love story remains a testament to the power of partnership and devotion. Mamie's family was the center of her world. She was the proud mother of sons Tracey Parrish (Monique), Aaron Harrish, and Cecil Harrish, and daughter Adrian Harrish (Brian Stanfield). Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren—Naichelle Terrylong (Odane), Cecil Harrish (Soffee), Christopher Harrish (Indya), Corel Harrish, Aaron Harrish, Harmony Hood, and Trinity Hood—and five great-grandchildren, Odane Jr., Akeem, Aniya, Zara, and Kevin Jr. She is also survived by her siblings, Jennette Robinson, Charlie Robinson (Julia Pearl), Betty Wright, and Shirley Cuyler (Phillip), as well as sisters-in-law Mildred Turner and Hattie Parrish. Her extended family includes special nieces Irene Owensby, Anna Robinson, and Kim Simmons (Kenneth), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and her close friend Clara Dawson and Godson Howard Booker Jr. Mamie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Isaac, her grandson Quintavious Harrish, her great-granddaughter Nyla Terrylong, and her siblings Bell Hudson, Jack Robinson, and Warnett Taylor. Mamie Lou Harrish will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and steadfast friend. Her legacy of kindness, humor, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
