With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Maliek Isaiah Barber Jr., who left this world far too soon on March 23, 2026. Born on January 5, 2026, in Gastonia, NC, Maliek graced our lives with his presence for a brief but cherished time. Maliek was a beacon of joy from the very moment he entered this world. Though his time with us was short, the love and happiness he brought to his family and those around him will be remembered forever. He had a smile that could light up the darkest room and a spirit that touched every heart. Maliek was the beloved son of Kamouria Baucum, who cherished every moment spent with him. Though Maliek has left this earthly realm, he joins his great-grandfather, Frederick Baucum, in eternal rest. We take comfort in knowing that he is surrounded by love in the heavenly embrace of those who have gone before him. A service to honor and celebrate Maliek's life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Pineville, located at 1805 Longleaf Dr. We invite family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Maliek to join us in remembering and saying farewell to our dear angel. In this time of deep sorrow, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown kindness and support during this period of bereavement.
